Murray Compton

1988 - Present (Chair)

A Chartered Accountant, Murray specialises in consulting to the tourism industry. He was a partner in Ernst & Young and its merging firms for 25 years, was Director of the firm's national management consulting activities for seven years and established Ernst & Young's tourism consulting practice.

In 1995, Murray retired from Ernst & Young and set up M R Compton & Associates Limited to specialise in consulting to the international accommodation sector.

Rose Laloli

2003 - Present (Deputy Chair)

Rose is a Registered Nurse with a broad range of experience in clinical and health management roles. Her career spans more than 30 years across both public and private health sectors. Rose now pursues a diverse range of business and community activities, both in Canterbury and throughout New Zealand and is passionate about professional leadership development, quality management and social justice. She has had a number of health advisory appointments and continues her interests in health planning and service improvement.

Jane Cartwright

Jane is a registered dietitian and has held senior roles in the health system and local government. These have been in the areas of general management and strategy and policy development. She has led developments in community, mental and public health and has substantial planning and operational experience.

Currently Jane is the Chief Executive of Partnership Health Canterbury PHO. She is a fellow of the Institute of Management and held the role of Chair for the Dietitians Board from 1996 to 2002, during which time she was also Director for Brackenridge Estate Ltd and Crown Public Health Ltd. Jane is currently a Trustee of the Familial Trust.

Jane Parfitt

Jane has held senior management positions in Health including three years as Chief Executive of HealthLink South a specialist publicly owned Hospital and Health Service with $100 million annual revenue and a staff of 2,000. She was Chief Executive of the Waimakariri District Council for three years before moving to her present position as General Manager, City Environment for the Christchurch City Council.

Jane is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Management, a past Board member of the Canterbury Employers Chamber of Commerce, a Board member of Brackenridge Estate Limited, a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, and a past Director, Crown Public Health.

Reg Garters

FNZIM, Dip Mgt
1998 - Present

Reg retired as Chief Executive of the New Zealand Institute of Management at the end of 2008 and now devotes his time to consulting, mentoring, speaking, writing and board work. He is also involved in many community and Church projects.

Reg has studied and taught management in a number of countries throughout the work and currently works for FHDW University, Germany, as a visiting professor.

David Lang

David has been a partner in the law firm of Saunders & Co since 1989 working principally in the commercial and property law fields. He has been a Council Member of the Canterbury District Law Society for 6 years and on the Complaints Committee (now known as Standards Committees) of the Law Society since 2003. David joined the Board of Trustees of Kirkwood Intermediate School in 2004, and is a trustee and Honorary Solicitor for a number of theatrical societies and trusts.

Mark has worked for 25 years in the ICT industry and is currently the ICT Director of Christchurch Polytechnic, the South Islands largest ITP. Mark holds a post graduate qualification in Applied Management.

David Spence

David established a sole practitioner Management Consultant practice in 1987 with a focus on negotiating management buyouts and acquisitions. David is a Chartered Accountant, a member of the Institute of Directors and a Fellow of New Zealand Institute of Management. He currently holds a number of commercial directorships.

Diana Sullivan

2003 - Present

Diana is a Registered Nurse, working in England for three years in Public and Private Hospitals. As a former Occupational Health Consultant she has worked in a variety of industries setting up their Occupational Health Centres.

Diana has been General Manager of Rossini International, an importing company and a Director of an Auckland Property Company, Vullino Investments, specialising in commercial property and is the owner/operator of Travel Essentials.

Ian Town

MBChB, DM, FRACP
2005 - Present

Ian was formerly the Dean of the Christchurch School of Medicine and Health Sciences before taking up the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Canterbury in April 2005. He is currently an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Otago, Christchurch.

Ian was Director of the Canterbury Respiratory Research group for 15 years and is a Medical Director and Board Member of the Asthma and Respiratory Foundation of New Zealand and a Life Member of the Medical Research Foundation.
