Jim Magee BA
(Hons), MBA (Otago)
Appointed September 2006 - Chief Executive Officer
Jim has spent sixteen years in the health sector and has been
general manager of Dunedin, Christchurch Women’s and
Christchurch hospitals.
He worked for several years as a management consultant with
clients mainly in primary healthcare, advising on strategy and
organisational development. He is on the boards of Partnership
Health PHO and Canterbury Community Care Trust.
Before moving to New Zealand from the UK in 1983 Jim held
management positions in manufacturing and information systems
development.

Appointed June 2007 - Marketing & Communications Manager
Sue has a background in journalism, corporate communications
and public relations, as well as governance and management
experience in the not-for-profit sector, including work with
Westpac Rescue, Presbyterian Support, New Zealand CCS and the
New Zealand Spinal Trust.
As Director of a project management company, Bramwell &
Banks, Sue has also worked as a consultant in the marketing and
communications sector, including the production and
implementation of national public relations campaigns.

Teresa Chalecki
RN, Cert BS
Appointed December 2006 - Community Services Manager
Teresa has worked in a variety of nursing and health
management positions in the community, secondary and tertiary
health sector, including Medical Operations Manager at
Christchurch Hospital. In addition to her nursing qualification
Teresa has a certificate in Business Studies with a management
endorsement at Massey University. In previous roles she has been
involved in a wide range of service development and improvement
projects including the establishment of new services and
facilities.
Teresa is a committee member for the New Zealand Association
of Gerontology.

Fran Cook R.CompN,
BN, MA(applied)
Appointed August 2005 - Business Development Manager
Fran joined Nurse Maude as Service Manager Capital & Coast
Care Coordination Centre at the time of its establishment. She
was appointed as General Manager in December 2006 and Business
Development Manager in 2007.
She was also Patient Services Manager for Southland District
Health Board and facilitated service transitions into its new
hospital.
Fran has been responsible for the leadership and
implementation of a number of service projects in partnership
with the C&CDHB.

Appointed 2001 - Director of Nursing
Sheree is a registered nurse and midwife with a background in
child health and case management midwifery. She has a passion
for the primary care sector and has held positions with the New
Zealand Plunket Society, the Canterbury Region of the National
Cervical Screening Programme and co-ordinated the Community
Nursing service at Nurse Maude.
Sheree was instrumental in the setting up the Canterbury
Primary Health Care Nurses Network and is an active member of a
number of MOH and DHB reference groups and committees.

David Hackston
BCom(Hons) CA
Appointed 2006 - Chief Financial Officer
David is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered
Accountants and has spent most of his career in the financial
services industry in London, returning to New Zealand in 2006.
David heads the finance function for Nurse Maude and is
currently heavily involved in improving management information
and decision making throughout the organisation.

Appointed December 2007 - General Manager Care Coordination
Andrea has a clinical background in midwifery and has
practiced both in hospital and community settings. Moving into
health management in 2001, Andrea took up the position of
Manager Health Promotion for Public Health South (a regional
Public Health service for Otago and Southland) and about the
same time became a credentialed surveyor for Quality Health NZ -
a role she is still actively involved in.
Her most recent position before joining Nurse Maude was with
ACC in Wellington as Manager of Rehabilitation Services, Long
Term Programmes.

Appointed January 2007 - Business Improvement Manager
Pete has a background in aircraft engineering and electronics
manufacturing.
He spent 10 years working on search and rescue helicopters in
the RAF as an engineering technician before moving to New
Zealand in 1996 where he took up a role with Air New Zealand at
Auckland International Airport.
He is responsible for helping individuals and teams within
the organisation to achieve their objectives more effectively
and efficiently to help align Nurse Maude’s business operations
systems with strategic goals.

Kelly Osborn NZ
Dip Business, NZIM Diploma of Management
Appointed December 2006 - Supply and Support Services
Manager
More than nine years in the Royal New Zealand Navy as a
Supply Officer has meant that Kelly has been able to contribute
a great deal in her current role as Supply & Support Services
Manager for Nurse Maude.
The complex, diverse and scale of operation required to meet
Nurse Maude’s supply and support needs has seen Kelly put her
skills in business administration, purchasing and procurement,
staff and event management, and finance to good use.

Richard
Reddecliffe BCom CA
Appointed 1995 - Information Services Manager
Richard joined Nurse Maude in 1995 as an accountant and was
appointed as Information Services Manager in 1997.
Richard heads a growing team of information technology and
information services professionals who cater to the ICT needs of
Nurse Maude and provide information for both internal and
external users.
Major projects in which Richard has been instrumental include
the scoping, specification and implementation of Nurse Maude’s
core business applications: Client Management System (CMS),
Central Coordination Centre System (C3S) and Capital & Coast
Care Coordination Centre System (C5S).

Debra Wilson RGON,
PGCert (Palliative Care), MBA(Cant)
Appointed 1991 - Hospice Palliative and Aged Care Manager
Debra manages the Nurse Maude Hospital and Nurse Maude
Hospice Palliative Care Service.
Debra is a registered nurse with a background in paediatrics
and palliative care. She has a strong vision for the future of
palliative care in Canterbury and how the Nurse Maude Hospice
Palliative Care Service can provide and assist other health
professionals with meeting the needs of people with
life-limiting illnesses, and their families, in the community.

Valerie Wright BA
Bus. Psych.
Appointed August 2006 - Human Resources Manager
Valerie is an experienced human resource practitioner, with a
strong background in HR practice and consulting, backed up with
a BA in Business Psychology from Massey University. She is a
member of the Human Resources Institute of New Zealand and is a
Registered Career Practitioner.
Valerie chairs the Human Resource Quality Team and leads
negotiations of Nurse Maude’s collective employment agreements.
