New Zealand Institute of Community Health Care
The Institute of Community Health Care was launched in 2007 by Nurse Maude with the specific purpose of providing a centre of excellence for the management of research and development projects that would lead directly to tangable improvements and the development of relevant services in community health.
The functions of the Institute are very much in line with Nurse Maude's philosophy of leading the way in community care.
With a reputation for delivering some of the most challenging aspects of community health care, Nurse Maude is perfectly positioned to partner the New Zealand Institute of Community Health Care in its role as a national centre of research and innovation in the sector. A role that will attract research projects to ensure the future of community health care across the country, as well as contributing to similar projects worldwide.
The New Zealand Institute of Community Health Care contributes to best practice and improved patient outcomes in community health care through the integration of education, research and clinical practice.
This is achieved through...
- Engaging in debate, research and the generation of new knowledge, including support for publications and conference papers that highlight community based issues and showcase innovation.
- Providing opportunities to partner with other organisations to develop research projects and pursue research funding.
- Creating career opportunities and supporting lifelong learning for staff and those associated with community based care.
- Communicating knowledge about the outcomes of community based health care.
The Institute develops collaborative relationships with researchers and tertiary institutions so research and development processes are robust, and positive outcomes are maximised for clients and the community.
The Institute also supports potential researchers to identify research projects likely to achieve the most beneficial outcome for those organisations delivering community care and their clients.
We welcome interest from:
- researchers who would like to partner Nurse Maude staff on research projects,
- staff, health service providers and researchers who have an interest in establishing research projects which focusing on community health care issues,
- community groups and individuals who have an interest in funding any of our activities.
