Bequests
Leaving a gift to Nurse Maude in your Will ensures that your support of our
work continues beyond your own lifetime. By letting us know about your bequest
we are able to thank you. There are a number of ways you can make such a gift…
- A financial or asset donation, such as money, property, shares or
jewellery.
- A percentage of your estate.
- A residual bequest that allows you to leave specific gifts to family and
friends, with the remaining part of your estate gifted to Nurse Maude.
- A specific contingent bequest that comes into effect only if your
primary intention cannot be met. For example; "If (name of primary
beneficiary) does not survive me, then I give to Nurse Maude…"
- Name Nurse Maude as the beneficiary of your life insurance policy.
- Establish a charitable trust either during your lifetime or in your Will
to support Nurse Maude’s work.
- Assign income from your investments.
Bequests should specify the Nurse Maude Association, and a suggested wording
for a bequest in your Will, or as a codicil to your existing Will, would be:-
"I give and bequeath to Nurse Maude the sum of $...(or
property, assets or a percentage of my estate as described) for the general
purposes (or for a specific purpose) for which the receipt of the Treasurer or
other authorized officer shall be a good discharge to my Trustees."
