Nurse Maude Social worker Julie Grenfell was one of the scholarship recipients
Each year, @bninewzealand supports Hospice New Zealand with a $12,000 donation to the BNI Palliative Care Scholarship Programme, helping psychosocial and allied health staff across Hospice NZ member organisations. In 2024, 11 recipients gained skills in areas like counselling, social work, and palliative care certification.
The feedback is inspiring: recipients gained confidence, enhanced their skills, and deepened their ability to provide holistic, culturally responsive care. One recipient shared, “This scholarship has given me the confidence to better support patients and raise awareness of the role of social work in palliative care.”
