Farmers Christmas campaign raises $139,447 for Nurse Maude Hospice

and just over $1m for Hospice Care throughout New Zealand

A huge thank you to Farmers, their staff and their amazing customers who have outdone themselves yet again this year by raising $1,005,950 to support Hospice Care throughout New Zealand.

Farmers have been running their Hospice NZ Christmas Fundraising Campaign for 11 years now which also includes a tree of remembrance in each store where people can leave messages for loved ones. Staff sell the Farmers Christmas Bauble and take donations in the run up to Christmas, with all proceeds (including the full sales price of the bauble) being donated to the local hospice.

Nurse Maude would like to thank the Canterbury stores; *Ashburton, Moorehouse, Riccarton, Rangiora, The Palms, Hornby and Northlands who together raised almost $140,000 to support the Nurse Maude Hospice Palliative Care Service.

This generous gift is very gratefully received and makes a huge difference to the community by ensuring everyone can receive the services free of charge.

*The funds raised at Ashburton are shared equally with Mid Canterbury Hospice.

Jane Rollings (left), Service Manager for Nurse Maude Hospice Palliative Care Service and Fiona Giles (right) of Mid Canterbury Hospice met with Store Manager Grant Moffitt (centre) and his team at Farmers Ashburton this week to thank them for their support.

This week, Nurse Maude CEO Jim Magee, Jane Rollings and colleagues hosted staff from Farmers stores at Moorehouse, Riccarton, Rangiora, The Palms, Hornby and Northlands at our head office in Merivale to say a huge thank you. Together we reflected on the community engagement that the campaign generates each year, blessed and shared some of the messages that people left for loved ones and recognised the tremendous amount of work that goes into running such a successful fundraising campaign. These funds will make such a difference to those affected by a life limiting illness.

Thank you for visiting
