Be part of the
Nurse Maude Story
Every day of the year the Nurse Maude Hospice and Palliative Care Service provides specialist care and support free of charge to patients and their families.
We provide nursing and homecare to some of the most vulnerable in our community. Every dollar goes into providing care for those who need us most.
Ways to get involved
Your support makes a world of difference. Thanks to a large group of dedicated and generous people in the community, Nurse Maude is able to deliver a depth of care that would otherwise not be possible.
Your contribution, no matter how small or large makes a difference.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you would be interested in getting involved either financially, through volunteering or by donating items for the Hospice Shops.
Get amongst it and volunteer
More than 260 volunteers donate their time, skills, and thousands of hours of their time to Nurse Maude every year, working in our gardens, the Hospice Shops, our Care Home and Hospice, as well as helping us to fundraise.
If you would like to join, please contact our Volunteer Services on 03 375 4230 or email volunteers@nursemaude.org.nz . Volunteers must be aged 14 years and over, and those under the age of 18 must have parental consent.
Giving to Nurse Maude was one of the many ways we could honour Dad’s legacy.”
Leave your mark
Giving forward
Nurse Maude has been an integral part of our community for almost 130 years, and thankfully the community has always been part of us.
Every dollar you give goes directly into providing care for those who need us most and we (and they) love you for that.
Financial support through bequests and giving
Every year Nurse Maude receives bequests from those who would like to continue supporting our work for generations to come.
These legacies of care are what enable us to help fund large capital projects such as the Nurse Maude Care Home, subsidise the care that our patients and their families receive in the Nurse Maude Hospice, and advance the research, development, and technology required to provide quality nursing care in the community.
To discuss how your bequest can support some of the most vulnerable in our community contact Sue Sutherland at 0274 368 808 or email sue.sutherland@nursemaude.org.nz
